Three Must-DO Items for Transformation
Moving from the way you've always done it with limited results to the OpEx Way for positive culture and high performance
My operational excellence model (the Transformational Operational Excellence model) is based on three rules that guide its efficacy [1]. These rules emphasize the balance between human and operational systems and the importance of positivity [2].
The three rules are:
The forces in our daily work experience usually behave as we describe them [1]. For example, at any given moment, one or more forces (culture, strategy, management, and leadership) are more potent than the others [1, 2]. The ultimate goal is to achieve equilibrium [1].
Executive and strategic leaders are responsible for balancing the human and operational systems [1]. The effort to balance these forces drives the organization toward equilibrium [1]. This involves considering how management processes affect both the operational aspects of production and the human experience [1,2].
Positivity in the human system creates positive performance [2]. Strategic leaders influence culture and leadership and can shape them to create a positive work environment [1]. My model emphasizes creating a daily experience that is engaging, valuable, and meaningful for the organization's people [2]. Some organizations allow negative attitudes and passive leadership to affect the daily experience; my model aims to counteract this [2].
These rules highlight my model's focus on creating a balanced, positive, high-performing organization [2]. They also emphasize leadership's role in shaping the organization's human and operational aspects [2].
